The World-Famous Carnival of Joy is Back!
The Giant Kookaburra, the Giant Cockatoo, and a very special new friend are on the road again – from Brisbane to Townsville, and a few stops in between. We officially start the Carnival of Joy today at 10.30am at Captain Burke Park Kangaroo Point Brisbane.

Carnival of Joy Event Organiser Dr Farvardin Daliri OAM is celebrating Queensland Day with the launch of the Carnival of Joy crowdfunding effort.
Community leaders have come together to demonstrate their support for the Carnival of Joy!
On the 19th April 2021, local artist Dr Farvardin Daliri OAM unveiled his latest artwork, the giant talking cockatoo at a community blessing ceremony.
Internationally renowned artist Dr Farvardin Daliri OAM created a giant kookaburra as a symbol of hope and unity.
Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM has accepted the position of Ambassador for the Carnival of Joy.
“I’m pleased to accept the position of Ambassador for the Carnival of Joy,” said Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM. The progress of a giant talking cockatoo will be unveiled at the Carnival of Joy artwork blessing ceremony on 19 April 2021 in Brisbane. Local artist, Dr Farvardin Daliri OAM who previously created the giant kookaburra and a giant koala as symbols of unity will update sponsors and the community on his progress with his latest artwork creation; a giant talking cockatoo.
